I am a son of Appalachia with deep roots in Magoffin and Floyd Counties, where my family settled in the early 1800’s on land granted to them for service in the War of 1812. I am a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, and live on a farm in the hills of Magoffin County. As a lifelong creative, I have years of experience as a musician and songwriter in Bluegrass music and value authenticity in an increasingly digital world. That’s one of the main reasons I decided to launch Tussey Media Group. Our goal is to inspire and encourage others to embrace their ideas, pursue their dreams, and say “yes” to new possibilities and to provide a means for them to access the world on their terms. For years, the media has been used to import the culture and values of the outside world into our region. Our mission at Tussey Media Group is to be a portal to export our culture and values to the outside world, with all the pride, dignity, and respect our people and culture deserve. At Tussey Media Group our motto is “Up with Appalachia.”
